Horned Nerite Snails are small freshwater snails that are popular in the aquarium hobby for their unique appearance and algae-eating habits. Like other freshwater snails, Horned Nerites are generally peaceful critters and are easy to care for. We recommend adding these snails to lidded aquariums as they can definitely crawl out of the tank as well. The Horned Nerite can be identified by its protruding horns on the shell and they are primarily brownish-black with hints of golden yellow. These snails do not breed in freshwater and can also be housed in brackish waters. Horned Nerites will happily help keep aquarium glass clean and substrate turned over, but will also readily feed on a variety of sinking pellet foods. Warmer waters and stable pH levels are necessary, but other than this, Horned Nerites are generally easy to care for and will add interest to any aquarium tank.

Tank size recommendation: 10G for 1-2 snails
Snails are extremely sensitive to copper. If using tap, be sure to use a dechlorinator to ensure safety for your invertebrates.
