Product Description

Bacopa Amplexicaulis, also known as Bacopa Caroliniana and Water Hyssop, is a well-known aquatic plant choice in the planted aquarium tank hobby. This particular species is safely one of the most popular aquarium plants for beginner hobbyists due to its hardy and easy care. Bacopa Amplexicaulis is larger in size when compared to its equally popular counterpart, Bacopa Monnieri, and requires similar care. Bacopa Amplexicaulis can thrive in many planted aquarium conditions and will do fine in low-light, no CO2 environments. This aquatic stem plant features thick stems and soft bright green leaves. It does have the potential to grow out of the water and will occasionally sprout small purplish-blue flowers above the water's surface.

When provided with high light, Bacopa Amplexicaulis also has the potential to produce slightly reddish tones. It has the ability to also grow in bog-like conditions as well as brackish conditions. Like all aquatic stem plants, Bacopa Amplexicaulis can be propagated by cutting the stem and replanting it into quality aquarium soil.

Tissue culture plants are grown in-vitro by laboratories who specialize in propagating aquatic plants. There is a huge selection of plant species that have been propagated this way. This is truly the best option for those who want absolutely zero unwanted pests, algae and pesticides. This makes them perfect for shrimp keepers and any planted tank enthusiasts alike.

NOTE: It is important to remove the tissue culture agar gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away, divide, and plant.
