Product Description

IMPORTANT: Aquarium moss may vary in growth forms. Because of this, please understand how to properly transition and acclimate plant(s) into desired form(s). We do our best to thoroughly clean and inspect all plants prior to shipment but cannot guarantee aquarium moss to be free from snails and/or algae. Not your thing? Please consider purchasing tissue culture aquarium plants!

Tissue culture plants are cultivated in sterile lab settings ensuring your plant is free from pests, snails and algae! These are young specimen that are grown in emersed forms. Gel should always be removed prior to planting.

LIVE PLANTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO STRESS AND DAMAGE FROM TRANSIT - This may appear in the form of minimal melt, cosmetic damage (such as browning), etc. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for moss with browning parts or portions that die out of our care.

Aquarium moss is versatile, hardy and wonderful for beginner aquarists!

Vesicularia Sp. Anchor Moss, commonly known as simply Anchor Moss, is a beautiful variation of aquatic moss that can be commonly seen in planted aquarium tanks. It is similar in appearance to Christmas Moss, but typically has denser, more compact frond growth. Color is a rich green like other aquarium mosses, but will have some areas of brown when stressed or coming out of transit. The great thing about all aquatic mosses is resilience. Anchor Moss is very hardy and with proper care, will produce new growth, readily. Aquarium moss provides excellent shade and coverage for shrimplets and skittish fish who commonly search for refuge. Alternatively, it can be used to mimic foliage on Bonsai-style driftwood or attached sparingly to other types of driftwood for an aged look in the planted tank. Aquarium moss may also be grown in emersed conditions or found wrapped as the base on Wabi Kusa setups!

Aquarium Moss is a fantastic choice for beginner aquarists and will tolerate a wide range of aquarium conditions and water parameters. Once established, Christmas Moss is a prolific grower and may require regular pruning to ensure it does not take over the aquarium. Manual removal is best, but if trimming is required, we recommend turning off filters and pumps to prevent the moss spreading to unwanted areas.

This Anchor Moss comes pre-portioned in a tissue culture sized cup.
