Product Description

Eriocaulon Quinquangulare is a relatively new aquatic plant species introduced to the aquarium hobby and can be quite difficult to keep. Its color pattern makes it highly coveted, sporting a maroon reddish base that lightens to green shades further up each individual leaf. Notorious for being more difficult to keep, Eriocaulon Quinquangulare is no exception and is recommended to be kept by experienced hobbyists only. Eriocaulon Quinquangulare requires high lighting, nutrient-dense aquarium soil and CO2 injection to thrive. Its growth pattern looks like dense little tufts that resemble grass, making it a perfect midground aquatic plant choice or at the foot of stones such as Ryuoh or Seiryu in an Iwagumi style aquascape layout. Fairly sensitive to shipment, Eriocaulon Quinquangulare is often grown in its emersed form as it tends to be hardier in this form. If successful in keeping Eriocaulon Quinquangulare, propagation can be done simply by splitting the plant gently from the adult plant and rewards will be worth the risk.
