Medium level of care due to their feeding habits.

How large can they grow?
Paradise fish can attain an average size of 8cm

Where in the world are they from?
Commonly found in the river systems of Southern China, Taiwan and Vietnam

What is the ideal number to keep together?
1 Male with 2-3 Females is ideal. Avoid keeping multiple males unless in large aquariums

What water conditions do they require?
Will accept a wide range of temperature conditiopns from 10 - 24 Degrees and when breeding can benefit from a cooling period during winter. pH should range from 6.0 - 7.5.

What should you feed them?
Depending on variety can be picky eaters. May accept flake, but mostly fed on small sinking and frozen foods.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Avoid fish of a similar shape. Males should be kept separate unless in large aquaria. If multiple males are kept it is advised to keep 2 or more females per male.

Can they be bred in captivity?
Will readily breed in captivity. As with other Labyrinth fish they are bubble nest breeders that require a very tight fitting lid to allow fry to develop the Labyrinth organ.
