What is its maximum size?
This species can grow to be about 15cm

Where are they from?
Typically found in the Orinoco river basin in Colombia and Venezuela.

What is the ideal number to keep together?
Males can be somewhat territorial, but it is rare that any damage is done. Several can be kept in most tanks.

What water conditions do they require?
Water conditions should be kept between 6.0-7.0 pH. Temperatures should range between 24-27°C

What should you feed them?
Primarily vegetarian diet. Should be fed a variety of fresh vegetable (cucumber slices, kale, blanched spinach etc.), dried sinking pellets and occasionally frozen food such as bloodworm or daphnia.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Very peaceful but not suitable for a general community aquarium.
