How easy are they to care for?
They require a large and well established aquarium, with lots of rocks in which to burrow. A lot of sand space is needed as well as good sand depth. These fish need to be able to sieve through the sand as this is how they obtain the majority of their food source.

How large can they grow?
5.5”

Where in the world are they from?
Indo-west-Pacific

What is the ideal number to keep together?
These are best kept in a pair.

What water conditions do they require?
SG: 1.020-1.025, pH: 8.1-8.4
Tropical: 22-28 deg C (72-82 deg F)

What should you feed them?
The majority of their diet will be supplemented by their sand sifting behaviour, however Mysis, brine and krill will be happily accepted and should be offered daily.

How compatible are they with other fish?
Highly compatible, should not be kept with similar species of goby.

Can they be bred in captivity?
Not known to breed in captivity.

Are they reef safe?
Yes – however caution should be advised. When they sift through the sand, they take no notice of where they dump the remaining contents; this can land on delicate corals and have adverse effects.
